We are now accepting resumes for: Electric Power Sales Manager - New Iberia

This position reports directly to the General Manager of Engine Division. The role of the Electric Power Sales Manager is to interface daily with Electric Power Project Managers, Customers, other functional departments and suppliers.  The position is directly responsible for maintaining and fostering growth of the industry segment's customer base and its associated relationships in a profitable and sustainable manner.


  • Identify prospects, develop customer relationships, evaluate needs; make recommendations for qualified solutions using proper Caterpillar equipment application principals, make effective presentations and close orders.
  • Manage the sales territory, to include End Users, Electrical Contractors and Consulting Engineers while strategically aligning the department within the guidelines established by management. Emphasis will be placed on developing an executable sales strategy for new customer accounts associated with Renewables and Combined Heat and Power applications.  
  • Manage assigned Project Managers during the project life cycle for the Electric Power Sales Backlog through commissioning and customer acceptance to ensure we are meeting our customers' expectations on a consistent basis.
  • Develop and achieve forecasted sales and profit performance goals approved by management.      
  • Mentor and develop Electric Power Sales Professionals by setting sales goals and assisting the sales team in the development of customized power solutions that meet individual customer needs.
  • Develop and influence engineering specifications with key engineering firms in the Electric Power Market.
  • Understand and follow credit department procedures and policies to obtain credit approval for all customers. Assist credit department with collection problems.
  • Keep current on the activities of competitors and advise management of those activities that could impact the success of company objectives.
  • Keep current on all Caterpillar power products, sales policies and programs.
  • Interface with Caterpillar Industry Representatives to ensure alignment on key Caterpillar initiatives.
  • Participate in principal trade and professional association activities to keep abreast of economic conditions and business opportunities
  • Keep customer files and account information current.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electric Power Systems Sales or closely related industry sales
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
