DESCRIPTION:

The Pipefitter/Welder is responsible for assessing and repairing equipment as needed.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fabricate, weld, repair, and inspect industrial oilfield equipment and structural systems throughout the manufacturing facility.
  2. Perform maintenance and repairs of piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and structural systems.
  3. Cut, fit, and weld piping and structural steel.
  4. Perform all types of welding; stick, mig, tig, etc.
  5. Flange make-up and bolt pressure retaining equipment.
  6. Perform tasks associated with testing, inspection, and repair of process equipment. Document and record maintenance repair information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED and ASW Certification required. Qualified applicants will have at least three years of experience in welding and have a basic understanding of component structural integrity and metallurgy. Candidates must be proficient with an air-arc, torch and grinder and have the ability to use precision measuring equipment. The candidate must have basic computer skills. Be able to navigate a computer to open programs and type information into software. Must comply with all safety and company regulations. Maintains good work habits and presents a favorable business image towards customers served by the company.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, TOOLS

Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. ASW certification is required.

Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
